A Living History Flight Experience aboard a Commemorative Air Force warbird is easily accomplished. The CAF B-17 Flying Fortress Texas Raiders and her sister aircraft the Navy JRB transport Little Raider typically operate from March through November.

The cost to fly on the B-17 Flying Fortress is:

  • $495.00 per person for seats in the center section of the aircraft
  • $700.00 per person for the Navigator's Seat
  • $850.00 per person for the Bombardier's Seat.

The B-17 accommodates eight passengers along with a flight crew of four. The Living History Flight Experience is about 90 minutes from start to finish, including approximately 20-25 minutes in the air. Payments are processed at the time an online reservation is booked. We accept all major credit cards, cash, or checks. The CAF is a 501 c 3 non-profit and your payment is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by IRS regulations.

The Texas Raiders Living History Flight Experience

The Living History Flight Experience on the WWII vintage heavy bomber Texas Raiders is like no other, and the entire experience lasts approximately 90 minutes. Passengers must check in one hour before take-off. Pre-boarding includes check-in, a passenger safety briefing and photo opportunity with the crew. Once boarded the passengers will experience the engine start up sequence, a few minutes taxi to the runway, and a pause on the runway for a full engine run-up and flight clearance. Once airborne the flight lasts approximately 20 – 25 minutes in the air.

Passengers seated in the center section of the aircraft can get out of their seats and move about the aircraft to take photos and videos. Those seated in the Navigator’s and Bombardier’s chairs must stay seated throughout the flight. Upon return to the departure point the aircraft is parked and secured, and then the exits are opened for debarkation.


  • Smoking is prohibited on the aircraft ramp.
  • Passengers must be 12 years of age or older. Passengers must weigh less than 250 pounds.
  • Passengers must and check-in a minimum of 1 hour prior to the flight departure time. Passengers who fail to arrive and check-in within this time frame will be subject to cancellation of their flight reservation.
  • A liability release will be provided at check in and must be completed and signed prior to boarding.
  • Passengers must attend a pre-flight safety briefing prior to boarding. There will be crew members to assist you in boarding, securing seat belts and to answer any questions.
  • Ear protection is required and will be provided if you do not have your own. Passengers should wear long pants, and shoes with closed toes and heels.
